Fit of Yakima Skybox 18 Cargo Box # Y07336 on 2014 Jeep Wrangler 4-Door Hard Top

i have a Yakima skybox 21 and 2014 wrangler 4 door w/ rain gutter . Does the Yakima 1A rain gutter tower w/ 58inch crossbar is enough to hold my skybox 21 ?

The Yakima roof rack you referenced, their round bar system consisting of parts # Y00409 and # Y00101, when mounted on your 2014 Jeep Wrangler 4-Door hard top has only a very limited weight capacity. This is due to the fact that the drip rails on the hard top are not structural to the vehicle; they cannot support the weight load of even an empty Skybox 18 cargo box, part # Y07336, which weighs 52-lbs without any cargo loaded. Also, the Skybox 18 requires a crossbar spread of 24 - 42 inches and the Yakima rack bars mount only 18-inches apart so even without the weight concern the box mounting hardware simply would not fit the rack.

Yakima recommends that only skis and snowboards be loaded on the Jeep's hardtop.

However, Yakima offers their Rack and Roll Trailer # Y08106 that can be towed behind your Wrangler and that is compatible with your Skybox 21 cargo box. The Rack and Roll has a 250-lb total weight capacity. A video on this trailer is linked at right.
