Does Tow Hook Have To Be Removed For All Trailer Hitches On 2011 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport
Question:
I am inquiring about all trailer hitches for a 2011 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport SE. I notice that the Curt hitches require the removal of the tow hooks or tow loops. Do the Drawtite and Hidden Hitch products require the same? Thank you

I did some research and found that all of the trailer hitches we offer for your 2011 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport require the removal of the tow loop.
I recommend the Curt trailer Hitch, part # C13079. This is a Class lll hitch and has a 2 inch receiver opening. One note from Curt is that all non-trailer loads - bike racks, cargo carriers and so forth - should be supported with stabilizing straps, like part # 18050. Failure to properly support these loads will void your hitch warranty from CURT.
The ball mount kit I recommend for a 2 inch receiver is the etrailer ball Mount Kit, part # 989900. This includes 2 balls, 2 ball mounts, the pin and clip and a handy storage bag. I have attached a link to a product review video for this kit you can check out.
Another hitch that is designed to fit your Outlander is the Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch, part # 36509. This is a Class ll hitch and has a 1-1/4 inch receiver opening.
For a 1-1/4 inch receiver I recommend the Class ll Drawbar By Draw-Tite, part # 36051. This ball mount features a 5/8 inch rise or a 1-1/4 inch drop.
For a 1-7/8 inch hitch ball I recommend part # 19256, and for a 2 inch ball I recommend part # 19258.
If you are planning on towing with your Outlander I recommend the Tow Ready Custom Fit Vehicle Wiring, part # 118538. This easily connects to your vehicle wiring behind the tail lights, and then run the hot wire lead up to the battery. this will give you a 4-way trailer connector at the rear of your Outlander.
I have attached links to some of the accessories like bike racks and cargo carriers you can use with the hitch on your Outlander. If you need some more information about any of the items you are interested in let me know and I can make some recommendations.
