We do offer a custom fit wiring harness for your 2012 Chevrolet Silverado. It is the Tow Ready Custom Fit Wiring, part # 74682. I have attached a photo and have the dimensions noted for you. As noted, the overall length of the harness is 14 inches, and the length of the harness wiring from the back of the 7-way and 4-way connector to the back of the connector that plugs into your Silverado wiring is 11 inches. The wire loom itself measures 8 inches.
When working with electrical connectors I recommend using dielectric grease like part # 11755. This keeps dirt and moisture out of the electrical connections and helps prevent corrosion.
