Can a Sidewinder Pin Box be Used with a Hi-Jacker 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch on 2012 Ram 3500 Crew Cab

Question:

Can you tell me if I will run into any clearance problems if I am using this Sidewinder and connecting to a HiJacker 16K Dual Pivot model SL in the box of my 2012 Dodge Ram 3500 crew cab?

You should not have clearance problems using a Sidewinder, such as # RP61412, with the Hi-Jacker 5th wheel hitch in your 2012 Ram 3500 crew cab. The Sidewinder moves the pivot point of the trailer back 22 inches. Reese also makes a custom wedge to use the Sidewinder with the Hi-Jacker, # SWW-05.

To be certain if the 22 inches will provide enough clearance I would need to know the distance from the center of the hitch jaws to the back of the truck cab, the width of the front of the trailer, and the measurement from the center of the king pin on the trailer to the front most part of the trailer (and if the king pin is out in front of or recessed under the trailer overhang).

The Sidewinder is not to be used with a slider hitch. If you do have a slider hitch it will have to remain locked in the towing position when using a Sidewinder.
