Cargo Carrier That Will Clear Spare Tire on 2012 Jeep Wrangler
Question:
I am interested in the Curt basket cargo carrier #18133. It looks just like my old Valley #90590I switched the rise bar around and it cleared my 2012 jeep wrangler spare tire which measures 6inch from center of pin to bottom of spare. Can I do this with the Currt? Is it the same product as the Valley-thanks

I'd recommend the Curt # C18151 carrier. This carrier has a shank that's long enough that it should completely clear your spare tire with no modification needed.
I've linked you to a help article that shows how to measure for the clearance you'll need at the rear of the vehicle. Measure from the hitch pin hole in your receiver to the furthest rearward point of the spare tire. If this distance is less than 19 inches (which it certainly should be) the carrier would clear the spare tire. If the distance is less than 9 inches, you'll be able to fold the carrier up into its storage position when it's not being used.
This carrier is a newer item from Curt, and would be different from a Valley cargo carrier you had in the past. I'll link you to a product demonstration video, you can view it by clicking the provided link.
