Brake Controller Installation on 2006 Fleetwood Terra 32S Motorhome
Question:
I have a 2006 Fleetwood Terra 32S class A Motor home. I am looking at pulling a trailer with dual electric brakes. There is a 7 pin connector on my motorhome... Do I need to add an electric brake controller or is one factory installed? If not, what part do I need and how/where do I install the controller? Thanks!

You would almost certainly need to install a controller. Factory installed brake controllers are fairly common on full sized trucks, but not so much on motorhomes.
You'd need to install a brake controller. I'd recommend the Tekonsha Prodigy P2, part # 90885. The P2 is extremely easy to use and is highly rated by our customers.
The controller would install under the dash, most commonly to the right of the steering column so you don't bang your knee on it when getting in and out of the vehicle. The black wire on the controller attaches to the positive battery terminal, the white wire grounds to the negative terminal. The red controller wire connects to the brake stoplight switch located atop the brake pedal. There will be several wires exiting the switch, you'll need to use a circuit tester like part # PTW2993 to check each wire. The wire you want will only show power on it when the brake pedal is pushed. Once you find the correct wire, tap the red wire into that circuit. The blue wire will run under the vehicle and carry the output voltage from the brake controller to the brake output terminal of the 7-way (the pin at the 5:00 position as you're looking at the front of the connector). You'll need 10 gauge wire like # 10-1-1 of sufficient length to reach the 7-way from the brake controller.
I've linked you to some articles that will assist you with the process.
