Can a European 7-Way be Connected to a US Spec 7-Way Trailer Connector

Question:

Hello, I have a 2008 Volvo XC-90 with US specifications. I live in Belgium and would like an electrical adapter that will allow me to hook up a European trailer, with a 7-way Round Pin, European style, to my existing outlet. I currently have a 4 pin and a 7 pin outlet,. Do you have such adapter? If not, what would you recommend to resolve this issue? Thank you in advance for your assistance.

We do not have an adapter to go from a US style trailer connector to a European 7-Way. My recommendation is to leave the wiring harness on the vehicle and put a 4-Way flat on the trailer. You would need to cut off the Euro 7-Way and in its place use # HM48110 or similar trailer side 4-Way. The functions are white is ground, brown is running lights, yellow is left turn and brake lights, and green is right turn and brake lights. You will need to attach the wires to the existing trailer wiring so you have at least the basic lighting functions. Some functions will be lost.
