Trailer Wiring and Hitch Recommendation for a 2013 GMC Acadia
Question:
I have a 2013 GMC Acadia SLE-2 without the factory tow package. I contacted Tow Ready Tech services because I see you can get either part #118614 or 118270 which are each installed in a different manner. According to them the correct harness is a 118270 and the 118614 is no longer available. Would like your expert opinion as to whether the 118270 will work on my vehicle. There is a tow plug located in the wheel well passenger side, but is not equipped with a factory tow package. Any help is appreciated Thanks

The guys at the Tow Ready tech services really know their stuff, we contact them for help with wiring questions and they always give us great information. If they recommended for your vehicle the Tow Ready Wiring Harness part # 118270 I am 100 percent confident that is the correct harness for your vehicle.
This would also be a much easier install than the part # 118614 that is also recommended for your vehicle.
For a trailer hitch you would want the Draw Tite Hitch part # 75528. See install video.
For ball mounts I recommend the etrailer Ball Mount Kit # 989900. It comes with 2 ball mounts, 2 balls, a hitch pin with clip, and a carrying bag.
