Can Tekonsha Charger 2024-07 Charge a 12 Volt, 7 Amp Hour Battery
Question:
I have never used a charger to charge 12V from 12V. I have an ice chest air conditioner that I use in the car and have a small 7A 12V battery as an AUX for when the vehicle is not running. The fan draws 6 amps so the small battery runs out pretty fast and I want to recharge it while driving and not running the fan. Will this unit do that safely and will 16GA wire be sufficient up to about a 10foot length?

The Tekonsha charger # 2024-07 is designed to charge small breakaway system batteries (4 amp hours or greater) so it should work with the small 12 volt battery that you have. I would go with 12 gauge wire # 12-1-1, sold in increments of 1 foot, instead of the small 16 gauge wire.
The best way to charge the battery is going to be to use AC power and an AC charger such as # CTEK56353.
