Wiring Harness Recommendation for an Audi Q7 with 5-Way Flat Connector
Question:
Looking for a trailer wiring kit for an Audi Q7 that would have a 5 pin plug for a trailer with surge brakes. I see a 4 pin kit, but then I could not drive in reverse. Are there any options available for this application?

I recommend installing the Tow Ready Modulite Power Converter Kit with 5-Way Flat Connector, # 119177KIT. This harness has the standard 5-way flat connector for your surge brake lockout circuit, and it uses a powered converter to protect the electrical system on your Audi Q7. This harness will work with High Intensity lights, and it comes with all of the hardware and wire necessary to complete the installation.
I have attached a link to the installation instructions. Keep in mind, this is a universal harness, so the instructions are not vehicle specific. I recommend using a circuit tester like part # PTW2993 to test the taillight wires before you make any connections. Vehicle manufacturers do not typically follow trailer wiring color codes, so it is best to match by function, not color.
