Installing Brake Controller On 2014 Jeep Cherokee

Question:

Ordered a Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Trailer Brake Controller for 2014 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk. There appears to be an issue with matching plug n play wire harnesses. Is there a specific one to use? A 3021-P? Do I need to swap wires? Need help with install please.

Since there is no plug-and-play harness available for your 2014 Jeep Cherokee, you will need to hardwire the # 90195 brake controller. Check out the helpful article that explains how to install a brake controller from scratch. It has some very helpful diagrams that show where each wire needs to go.

If you have no factory trailer connector, you will need to use a Universal Installation Kit, like part # ETBC7. This will connect to the 4-way at the rear of your Jeep and will give you a 4-way and a 7-way connector. You will need to do some additional wiring so I have attached a helpful article and an installation video for a brake controller you can check out.

If you have no 4-way on your Cherokee, I recommend the Tow Ready Custom Fit Vehicle Wiring, part # 118605. I have attached an installation video for this wiring kit on a 2014 Jeep Cherokee you may want to take a look at.
