How to Carry 3 Kayaks on a Chevrolet Equinox with Factory Roof Rack

Question:

Good day, We hav 2, 10 foot pelican and 1 sit on aprox 6-7 foot for a child. Just wondering what would be the most cost effective, ideal for a 2008 Chevy Equinox with a factory roof rack. I was looking at the TH830 and also this one, not sure if 3 of these will fit on the roof of our vehicle though. Any advise would be greatly appreciated. Thanks,

I have a solution for you, but it would be tough to fit 3 kayaks on a J-style carrier and the Stacker on the factory roof rack of your 2008 Chevrolet Equinox. You may be able to use two of the Thule Stacker Kayak Carriers, # TH830, to carry all three kayaks on their side, but that will depend on the size of the kayaks. If the smaller kayak pretty thin and does not take must as much room on the crossbars, then this should work.

The other option would be to purchase an aftermarket roof rack like the Inno Square Bar Roof Rack which consists of parts # INB117, # INTR and # INTR103. This Inno Roof Rack attaches to the side rails of your factory rack and comes with 46 inch crossbars. This should give plenty of crossbar space to use the Stacker and a J-Style carrier like part # TH834.
