Rear Left Side Trailer Brakes on 2 Different Trailers Overheating Using Voyager Brake Controller
Question:
I have this braking system Installed in my 2012 ford e350 van and have issues with my rear drivers side brakes heating up more than the other 3. First issue was on my trailer when the brakes locked up and burnt up my bearings. I thought this was freak thing or just my fault. But when I borrowed a friends trailer the same overheating was happening to the exact hub location. Not sure what can be the issue here. Please help

A brake controller such as the Voyager # 39510 sends back the same voltage to all of the trailer brakes equally so there really isn't a way that it could be the problem. It is strange that it is the rear brake and not the front brake since the front brake would get the power first.
It could be an issue with the trailer connector on the 2012 Ford van. If there is corrosion on the pins or inside of the trailer connector that could be producing a short.
To test the brake controller you can take a look at the 2 help articles I have linked. While it is unlikely the brake controller is the problem, it would be worth troubleshooting if everything else checks out fine.
