The only trailer hitch offered for your 2005 Volvo S40, is the Curt # C11438 that you referenced. This is a light-duty Class I types that has a maximum tongue weight (downward force on the hitch) of 200-lbs and a maximum gross trailer weight capacity of 2000-lbs. I have linked two articles that will help you with hitch installation.
I was not able to find a confirmed towing capacity for your vehicle so its a good idea to check your owner's manual (or speak to a local dealership) to confirm the vehicle's tow rating. Its important that your total trailer/motorcycle weight not exceed the hitch or vehicle capacities.
With this hitch you can use Draw-Tite ball mount # 3594, and either 1-7/8-inch ball # 19256 or 2-inch ball # 19258 depending on the size of your trailer's coupler.
You will also need a trailer wiring harness to let your Volvo transmit its various lighting signals to those on the trailer. You can use harness # C59496.
I have also linked you to an article that covers towing basics.
