Front-Mount Hitch For Winch On 2001 Ford F-250 Truck With Blocker Beam

Question:

My son has a 2001 Ford F250 with leaf spring front suspension. He wants this hitch to mount his winch. This hitch is the concealed type that comes out thru the center of the front bumper. I have noticed that the description for this is for coil spring front ends. We had ordered the hitch and checked the box for leaf spring and received the I think 31014 it mounts WAY under the front bumper. We dont want it this way. We want to have it come THRU the bumper the way the 31114 does. Will the 31114 fit? Can it be made to fit? Ive read somewhere it is a issue with the bumper bar that runs across under the bumper for the leaf springs. Can I trim it somehow and make it fit? Thanks in advance for any info you may be able to give.

I spoke with my contact at Curt and asked about your 2001 Ford F-250 truck. They told me that the reason for the difference in fit is due to the blocker beam that is installed on the truck. You actually purchased the correct front mounted hitch, part # C31014, if your truck has the front bumper bar. They told me that due to the bar, the hitch will be mounted in a different manner and the receiver will be below the bumper, not through the middle of the bumper like part # 31114.
