A-Frame Electric Power Jack Recommendation For Trailer

Question:

I’m looking to get an electric jack for the trailer.. I guess It should have a mechanical crank as well if it fails… It’s 24’ long A frame about 9500 pds. I have a winch in my trailer that is hardwired to a HUGE battery… charges off the truck when connected… so I would hard wire this to it as well. you have SOOO many options not sure what to pick…

We've got several electric A-Frame jacks that would work perfectly for you.

If your trailer weighs just shy of 10,000 lbs, the trailer's tongue weight is likely somewhere in the neighborhood of 1000-1500 lbs, so you'll want a jack with a capacity greater than that. The greater the capacity of the jack, the less hard it'll have to work and therefore the longer it will last. Because of this, I'd recommend going with the highest capacity jack your budget will allow.

My go-to recommendation is the Stromberg Carlson # SC63VR that has 4500 pounds of lifting capacity. This jack has several features that make it stand out, such as LED lamps that illuminate the area to the front and sides of the jack for excellent visibility, and most important, a clutch that prevents the jack leg from being over extended or retracted causing unrepairable damage.

The jack would install by wiring to the existing trailer mounted battery and would ground to the trailer frame. A manual crank handle is included in case electric power is lost.
