Should LED Lights Remain Lit On A-Frame Trailer Jack
Question:
We bought a new trailer last year. It had LCI power jack. Works good. however the LED lights stay on all the time but very dimly. If you turn the lights on they get very bright. Two questions. What is the problem? How do you replace the lights? Do I have to take the cover off or pop the glass? What is the screw in the cover. Is it flat head, philips, or something else?

Expert Reply:
LED lights draw very little power and can stay illuminated due to residual power in the wiring system, even when turned off. It may be a normal function for them to brighten when you turn on the lights. You can use a tester like part # PT89ZR to check the current in the wiring for your system, and make sure the correct current exists.
You may wish to contact the company you purchased the trailer from and ask if they know what could be causing the problem or if that is a normal function. Since we do not carry this brand of power jack I am unable to tell you how to remove the glass or cover on the jack. That information should be available in the owner's manual.
If you decide you wish to replace the jack, I have attached a link to the A-frame powered jacks we have available. You can use the menu on the left to find the jack that would work for you.
