Hitch Recommendation and Ground Clearance for a 2013 Subaru Impreza Hatchback
Question:
1 Does the 11286 decrease ground clearance for a 2013 Impreza Hatchback? 2 I see a scorefoot line on my bumper cover but no pop-out. What will be needed in terms of cutting on the bumper cover? Anything at all? Thanks

You will lose a small amount of ground clearance when you install the Curt hitch part # C11286, but nothing that would cause any type of problem. When we installed this hitch on a similar vehicle as yours we found the distance from the bottom of the hitch opening to the ground to be 9-3/4 inches. See video.
There will be no fascia trimming to install this hitch.
This hitch has a note that states all non-trailer loads - bike racks, cargo carriers and so forth - should be supported with stabilizing straps like part # 18050. Failure to properly support these loads will void your hitch warranty from Curt.
A popular bike rack with other owners of 2013 Imprezas is the Swagman XTC bike rack part # S64670. Check out the review video that I attached that shows this rack being demoed on a similar vehicle as yours.
