Locking Trunk Mount Bike Rack for a 2013 Toyota Prius, Prius c, or Prius V

Question:

Thules fit finder says none of their trunk-mount racks work on a 2013 Prius 5-door hatchback, not a C or a V, no sun roof or glass roof. Are they right? Is there any good quality lockable rack for that model Prius?

The Thule OutWay, # TH45JV, fits the regular 2013 Toyota Prius with the solar roof, but none of the other 2013 Prius models. There aren't any other locking racks options that will fit either but I do have a recommendation for you.

First, the Prii models have that rear spoiler piece at the top of the hatch. Because you do not want to put weight on that spoiler, nor is it designed to handle weight, you will want to use the Hollywood Racks Over-The-Top rack # HRF2.

This rack has an additional upper arm piece that moves the top straps over that spoiler so no weight is put on it. I have linked a video showing how it works. To lock the bikes to the rack use a cable lock, # e98891. And to deter theft of the rack you can use Thule passive security strap # TH533.
