Hitch and Expandable Bike Rack Recommendations for a 2008 Mazda CX-7
Question:
I do not have a hitch on my car yet. Id like to get a 2-bike platform rack like the Thule T2, or Kuat NV, etc that has the option to add a 2-bike extension. The only racks Ive noticed that offer this option are the ones that mate up to Class II 2 Hitches. It seems this has to do with the tongue weight rating...I cant find the tongue weight rating for my car, only the towing capacity, which is a mere 2000 lbs. Do you have some 2inch hitches that will fit my car?

Let's start with a hitch, there are Class III hitches available for your 2008 CX-7 that would be excellent for using to carry a bike rack. For that I would recommend the Draw-Tite # 75512. Install video attached.
With that hitch installed you could use the Thule T2 Pro XTR Bike Rack part # TH69TX. This has everything you need to use as a 2-bike or a 4-bike rack. Or you could use the Kuat NV part # NV22G with the extension part # NA22G.
