Brake Controller And Wiring Harness On 2002 Jeep Cherokee

My 2002 Jeep Cherokee has a plug in the back for a 7 way, I Have a flat plug now. I need the wire harness from that plug to my hitch and want a 7 way connector with bracket, Also need the 90885 prodigy controller with a OEM adapter. I dont know if there is a plug in front for the controller?

To get a 7-way connector at the rear of your 2002 Jeep Cherokee, I recommend using part # ETBC7. This will use the 4-way connector at the back of your Jeep and will give you the 7-way for your trailer. The # ETBC7 is a universal installation kit and includes the mounting bracket you mentioned as well. I have attached a drawing that shows how the wiring is run when installing the # ETBC7 and a brake controller.

If you want a no-drill mount for the connector on the back of your Cherokee I recommend part # C57202. This bracket helps secure the connector in place and helps keep it from being damaged.

There is currently no OEM adapter available to install the Tekonsha Prodigy P2, part # 90885. You can hardwire the P2 to your Cherokee using the installation instructions and the diagrams I have attached.

When working with wiring I recommend using dielectric grease like part # 11755. this keeps dirt and moisture out of the connectors and helps prevent corrosion.
