Hitch Recommendation for a 2004 Chevy Silverado 1500 for Towing a 6,000 lb Trailer

I have a 1500 chevy Silverado and I haul a trailer that weighs 6ooo loaded. do I need this or the lighter wieght version?

It never hurts to have more hitch capacity than needed. The correct Class V hitch for your 2004 Chevy Silverado 1500 though is the Curt Hitch part # C15323. This hitch would work great to tow your 6,000 lb trailer.
However, you also need to check the owners manual of your truck to determine what Chevy lists as the capacity for your vehicle and be sure not to exceed the lower of the two capacities (hitch capacity vs. vehicle capacity) as your setup is only as strong as the weakest component in your setup.
For a ball mount, hitch ball, and pin and clip, I would recommend the etrailer Ball Mount Kit, part # 989900. This is a kit which includes 2 ball mounts, a 1-7/8 inch ball, 2 inch ball, and a hitch pin and clip.
