Will Firestone Air Bags Fit a 2011 Toyota Tacoma Pre Runner Double Cab with MagnaFlow Exhaust
Question:
I tow a 18 foot travel trailer with my Tacoma and want a system that will stabilize my truck while I tow the trailer. My Tacoma has a Magnaflow muffler with dual exits. Both exiting exhaust pipes run parallel with each other and exit on the passengers side behind the passengers side rear wheel. My problem I dont know if there is enough room for the air bag between its mounting position and the outer-most exhaust pipe. How far inward does the airbag and heat shield go from the frame? Ive watched the videos you provide but its hard to get enough of a sense of scale to come to my own conclusions. Any assistance would be appreciated.

The air springs used in Firestone Ride-Rite kit # F2407 for your 2011 Toyota Tacoma Pre Runner have a maximum diameter of 6.60 inches. They will be centered on the leaf spring stack. The lower bracket will be offset closer to the wheel. The upper bracket is in-set closer to the center of the top of the air bag so it would not stick out as far as the bag. So really the bags themselves would be closest to the exhaust.
If you measure from the center of the leaf spring stack out approximately 3.30 inches that is where the edge of the bag would be closest to the exhaust.
Another option is to use TorkLift StableLoad Rear Suspension Upgrade # TLA7311. This kit essentially pre-activates the lower overload springs in the leaf spring stack improving ride quality and helping to keep the bed level. You can also change back to regular ride height with the quick disconnect feature.
