Hitch Availability for 2010 Mazda 5 for Using Hitch Bike Rack
Question:
Hi- Im looking for a 2010 Mazda 5 Trailer Hitch class 2, I want to use a Thule TH934XTR Hitchpost 4-Bike Hitch Mount Rack 1.25-Inch Receiver. Do you have a hitch in stock?

Expert Reply:
All three hitches offered for your 2010 Mazda 5 are light-duty Class I hitches with a 1-1/4-inch receiver opening and a tongue weight rating of 200-lbs. Unfortunately no Class II hitches are offered for your vehicle.
Class I hitches have a limitation on their bike carrying capacity - 2 bikes maximum, regardless of the bike rack's capacity. Please refer to the linked article for more details. Although the Thule Hitching Post Pro 4 Bike Rack # TH934XTR will fit a Class I hitch, only two bikes can be safely carried on it.
In order to have a 4-bike carrying capacity on your vehicle you will need to use a roof rack for two of the bikes. The link provided will let you see roof racks for your Mazda 5; you can use the Select Vehicle Style drop down menu at the top of the page to select your roof type to see compatible roof racks. You can then use the other link provided to choose a bike rack that will work with the roof rack crossbar type you select; filters at the left margin will let you sort results to just those that will work with the crossbar shape you choose.
