Installing a Tekonsha P3 in a 2008 Jeep Wrangler with Factory 7-Way

Question:

I have a 2008 Jeep Wrangler JKU with a dealer mounted hitch and wiring setup to a 7-pin trailer plug. I got a Tekonsha P3 brake controller, but cant find a wiring adaptor for a 2008 Wrangler. Is there one? If not, had do I wire this into what the dealer installed?

To install the Tekonsha P3 brake controller part # 90195 in your 2008 Jeep Wrangler you will need to hardwire the install. Check out the FAQ article I attached on how to install a brake controller from scratch.

Basically you will need to run the 4 wires of the controller like the chart I attached and for the blue wire you will just run it to the brake output circuit of your 7-way.

For a circuit breaker you would want part # 9506P and then for wire you will need part # 10-1-1.
