Troubleshooting Trailer Taillight Circuit on 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee with Tow Ready 118425 Harness

Question:

I just installed a 118425 wire harness on my 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee. All the lights work on the trailer except the tail lights. This occurs on two different trailers so I assume the problem is on the car side of things. Is there a way I can trouble shoot where the problem is? Did I even install the correct wire harness for the Jeep? Thank you for any help that you may be able to provide!

It sounds like you have eliminated the wiring of the trailer as being the problem with the taillight circuit of your 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee. Most likely the problem is that the connectors of the Wiring Harness part # 118425 are not seating properly. I would recommend you try connecting and disconnecting the harness a few times to see if that fixes the problem. Might also check to see if any of the pins are bent and need to be bent back.

Aside from that you could try a different ground location for the white wire.
