Where to Attach Stabilization Strap 18050 on a 1997 Honda CR-V with a Curt Trailer Hitch
Question:
Just installed Curt Manufacturing 13314 Class III Receiver on my Honda 1997 CR-V. I am reading now that a cargo strap is required for non-trailer loads. Where would this attach to the vehicle? The 1997 has a glass upper that lifts up and a lower door which swings out. Is it okay to attach the cargo strap directly to the glass pane?

This is a common issue that customer run into on certain Curt hitches. The strap is supposed to relieve some of the stress on the hitch when using things like bike racks or cargo carriers. It would be a better idea to attach the hook end on the vehicle to metal.
If you were going to attach strap # 18050 to glass I strongly recommend using something like # Y02623. The bone shaped part will get wedged inside the vehicle and disburse the weight better on the glass. If you could, place the strap at the lower part of the opening when the glass hatch is opened using this security strap, # Y02623. That way the force will be pulling on metal too and not just glass and over a wider area.
