Installing Class I Hitch on 2014 Prius for Towing Small Utility Trailer

Draw-Tite Sportframe Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class I - 1-1/4inch - Toyota Prius, 2014 Can I pull a small utility trailer weighing 165 lbs and 3 kayaks 80 lbs? Thanks

For towing purposes, I'd recommend you go with the Draw-Tite hitch model, part # 24847. You'd also need a ball mount and trailer ball, like part # 19256 for the 1-7/8 inch or # 19258 for the 2 inch ball. A trailer wiring harness, part # C59496 would also be needed.
The hitch mentioned above does have sufficient capacity for the trailer you mentioned, but you would need to determine if Toyota has any prohibitions about using the Prius for towing. I couldn't recommend anything that would contradict the vehicle manufacturer's recommendations.
