The linked article illustrates how to measure from the center of the hitch pin hole to the rear-most part of the vehicle to determine how much clearance you need from a bike rack.

The Thule Hitching Post Pro provides 13-1/2-inches of clearance between the hitch pin hole and the vertical mast. If your vehicle measurement is less than this then the rack will clear the back of your Liberty.
