Will I Need to Replace Brake Assemblies After Driving 5 Miles with Brakes Locked Up
Question:
Breaks were smoking when I stopped and the plunger on the switch got pulled out, it was for about 5 miles before I was able to replace the plunger and release the brakes. Are the brakes shot now? Or should I just have to replace the shoes? I have an Al-Ko axle and hub assembly

Chances are you will need new tires at the very least. But I would recommend you remove your hubs and check your brake assemblies and hub and drums. You may find that you will need to replace everything or just some components.
Chances are the shoes are shot, for the price of new shoes you're probably just better off buying new assemblies. In order to get the correct brake assemblies you will want to measure your brake assemblies. You will want measure across from the outer surface of one brake shoe to the other shoe and then measure the width of the shoe. I attached a link to a page that has all of the brake assemblies we carry.
I also attached a page that has all of the trailer tires we carried. You will want to get the size off the side of the tire so that you order the correct size tires.
