Helpful Expert Reply:
The Curt 2-Inch Class III trailer hitch that you referenced, part # 75338 for the 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee, can be used with any type of trailer that falls within the hitch's (and the Cherokee's) towing capacities. The different versions of the Grand Cherokee have varying towing capacities so you will want to check your owner's manual to verify what trailer weight your particular Grand Cherokee can tow. The 3.7L V6 Laredo, for example, can pull 6500-lbs when properly equipped. If you cannot find this in your manual you can give your VIN to your local dealership to confirm the vehicle's towing capacity.
If the hitch and vehicle are rated for different capacities, then you must abide by the limit of the lowest-rated item. Draw-Tite # 75338 has a rated maximum tongue weight of 750-lbs and a maximum gross trailer weight rating of 5000-lbs (7500-lbs if used with a weight distribution system).
For reference I have linked the written instructions as well as an installation video for hitch # 75338. I also have linked two helpful articles on hitch installation.
I have also included several articles on towing.
