Recommended Replacement For A Fulton A-60 Disc Brake Actuator
Question:
I have a Fulton A60 with a breakaway tongue on a 2007 dual axle boat trailer. Any suggestions for a replacement actuator? The brakes are disc but are only on the back axle. Also, I dontknow if it would be possible to upgrade the system to include a back-up solenoid? Right now it is set with a lifting lever to lock the surge piston for backing up. Its a very frustrating system. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hey Jacob,
I have a replacement for you that could work but we unfortunately don't have an actuator that has a built in swing-away adapter. If you go with the Dexter DX7.5L A-60 Brake Actuator w Electric Lockout # DX56FR you can weld on a fold-away coupler hinge, like # FHDPW330300 and attach it to your trailer tongue. This comes with an electric lockout included. It looks like you have a 7-way already on the trailer so you should just have to run one of the solenoid wires to the reverse light circuit in the junction box and ground the other to the frame.
