2024 Toyota RAV4 Trailer Hitch and Wiring Kit Recommendations
Question:
I have a 2024 RAV4 Prime SE. Which trailer hitch would you recommend for that vehicle? I will mostly use a Rocky Mounts bike rack, but pulling a small trailer is in the cards. I saw the etrailer and Curt models, which seem identical except the Curt is insignificantly more expensive and the etrailer is in a matte finish and the Curt is glossy.

Hi Henry, thanks for reaching out!
The etrailer # e23ZR and Curt # C13416 trailer hitches are exactly the same, aside from the glossy vs matte black finishes like what you mentioned. I prefer the matte black powder coat because it looks better on vehicles and does a better job at hiding any scratches that might happen from road debris. I've had a few of our brand hitches installed on my vehicles over the years and I'm still happy with how they look and perform!
If towing a trailer is something you'll likely be doing then I also highly recommend installing the Curt T-Connector Wiring Kit # C56434 while you're at it so it's one less project you have to mess with. There's a grommet in the cargo area of your RAV4 that you can pass the 4-Way through and then secure it next to your receiver using the brackets # 18136 and # C42CR for easy access.
