Replacement Hub With A 5 on 4.5 Bolt Pattern For A Hub With A 4 on 4 Bolt Pattern
Question:
Hello! I am hoping to get a product recommendation so I can ensure a proper replacement fit. I have a camper trailer with Dexter 4on4 8-91a hubs. I’m looking to swap the hubs out for 5on4.5 hubs to match some new tires I have. Could you tell me what would be compatible? Thank you!

Hey Thomas,
To determine the correct fit we'll just need to look at your bearings and grease seal to find the right match. I'm assuming you have the Dexter Trailer Idler Hub Assembly for 2,000-lb Axles # 8-91-05UC1, which uses bearing # L44649 (inner diameter: 1.063") for both the inner and outer bearings and grease seal # 10-9 (inner diameter: 1.5"). If you take your hub off and find the bearings aren't stamped with these part numbers then I can use the part numbers you have to figure out what will fit or you can measure the spindle at points B, C, and D from the diagram below to determine the inner diameters.
Most likely you'll be fine with the etrailer Trailer Idler Hub Assembly for 2K Axles # AKIHUB-545-2-2K, but it defintitely doesn't hurt to check the bearings and grease seal first to confirm.
