How to Attach 7-Way Trailer Connector to 2014 Ford Edge

Question:

We recently purchased a 2014 Ford Edge with the factory towing package. We need to add a brake controller for our trailer. We already have the controller and wiring previously purchased from you removed from our 2010 Ford Escape. I am trying to find the appropriate brackets to mount the car-end socket to the Edge. Im not sure what will work as there doesnt appear to be a good place to attach anything on this vehical.

None of the trailer connector mounting options we offer are vehicle specific, so finding a way to attach the connector to the vehicle could involve some trial and error. If you have access to the hitch crosstube, you can use a mounting box like part # 18159. Another option would be a no-drill bracket like # C57202 attached to the crosstube, and then you would use a bracket like part # 18138 to attach the 7-way connector to the no-drill bracket.

I have also seen instances where folks have actually used a mounting brackets like # 18138 to attach the connector under the rear of the vehicle, which might not be the most convenient place to put it, but some folks would be fine with that as long as the connector is hidden.
