Can Sidewinder be Used With 2021 Ram 2500 With B&W Companion in Gooseneck

Question:

I have a B&W companion hitch the goes in the ball slot. it looks like you are saying the sidewinder will not work with that option? I had a Demco over the ball and damaged my tonneau cover rail so i put in the B&W companion that sits alot higher. i was told i could get like a pillow box that would work or do i need to switch everthing.

Hi Lyle,

Correct, a Sidewinder is not compatible with the Companion that fits in the B&W gooseneck, so to use a Sidewinder you will need to change to standard 5th wheel rails and a fixed hitch on your 2021 Ram 2500.

For a custom, no-drill kit go with the Curt Custom Fifth Wheel Installation Kit for Ram Truck - Carbide Finish # C16427-204.

You'll also need a 5th wheel hitch that is compatible with a Sidewinder, and I'd go with a Reese product as they are also the ones who make the Sidewinder, the Reese M5 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch # RP30928.
