Solution for Replacement Trailer Hub With 3578 Inner and 2788 Outer Bearing
Question:
I am in need of some help with a trailer hub. The inner bearing is a 3578, the outer is a 2788, and the wheel seal is a 55093. It can be either 5 or 6 lug. It is replacing an old spoke style hub to an updated hub on a 2k axle. Thanks

The bearing combination on your trailer is obsolete so there are no hubs that will fit. The best solution would be to replace the axle that has a spindle with a modern bearing combination. You will need to measure the hub face distance (length) to find a replacement. We have the following available:
-Trailer Axle with Idler Hubs - 5 on 4-1/2 Bolt Pattern - 60" Long - 2,000 lbs # e82GR for 13" to 15" wheels
-Trailer Axle with Idler Hubs - 5 on 4-1/2 Bolt Pattern - 60" Long - 2,000 lbs # e84YR for 8" to 12" wheels
-Trailer Axle with Idler Hubs - 5 on 4-1/2 Bolt Pattern - 72" Long - 2,000 lbs # e37YR for 13" to 15" wheels
-Trailer Axle with Idler Hubs - 5 on 4-1/2 Bolt Pattern - 72" Long - 2,000 lbs # e32GR for 8" to 12" wheels
If you are unable to find a replacement that is the right size the only other option is a universal fit like the Timbren Axle-Less Trailer Suspension # A20RS545.
