Trailer Hitch and Wiring Harness Recommendations for 2004 Honda CR-V EX
Question:
Hello, I want to purchase a trailer hitch for my 2004 Honda CRV EX. What options do I have. I was thinking about the CURT 13535? Also, what wiring connector do I need? I would appreciate other recommendations as well. I was trying to look for a wiring harness installation specifically for my car but couldnt find one. Do have a video link you could share with me? Thanks.

The Class III Curt hitch # 13535 is an excellent choice for your 2004 Honda CR-V EX as it will give you more weight capacity, safety margin and flexibility for use with a range of accessory items like cargo carriers and bike racks...not to mention a substantial towing capacity.
You will want to refer to your CR-V owner's manual to verify its capacity since it may differ from the hitch; the lowest-rated item becomes the overall system's limit. Versions of the CR-V have a 1500-lb towing capacity.
This hitch installs without drilling and includes all required hardware. I have linked the written installation instructions as well as a video for your reference. Please note that the hitch does not come with a ball mount, pin or clip; for flexibility I suggest the etrailer kit # EBMK4 that includes everything. A video on this kit is provided.
For a trailer wiring harness I suggest the T-One custom-fit plug-in harness # 118336 that installs without cutting or splicing wires. I have linked an installation video for you.
Last, I have included several articles on hitch installation and towing that will give you some helpful background.
