Troubleshooting Brake Buddy Stealth Activating While Driving Jeep Wrangler
Question:
My brake buddy stealth in my Jeep Wrangler will engage at random when driving and not connected to motorhome. Removing the dustcover does not disengage brakes nor does removing the fuse. It will release after taking dustcover off and on several times, why does removing the fuse not disable the system?

Once you plug in the dust cap and it is fully seated the circuit will no longer engage after 3 minutes. It should stay this was until the towed vehicle's connector is reconnected to the motorhome. I would make sure you have that dust cap on there all the way and give it enough time to make sure the tow circuit is disengaged.
I would also double check my wiring to make sure everything is wired correctly. Pulling the fuse would completely cut the power if it is wired correctly so it should no longer be able to operate. I have attached the instructions for the # HM39530 below which includes the wiring diagrams.
