Parts Needed to Complete Installation of 7-Way Adapter on 2010 Honda Odyssey

Question:

Hi there, I bought a Rockwood trailer that has electric brakes. I have a 2010 Odyssey without the tow package. I purchased the 4 way to 7 way connector and the Curt bluetooth brake controller. My question is how do I connect the brake and power wires from the 7 way connector to my van? Thank you

If you only bought the adapter the first thing you're going to need is an actual 4-way on your 2010 Honda Odyssey. The # 118438 will plug into the connection point in your rear cargo area. Once this is done, you can plug the 4-way end into your 7-way adapter to carry over the signal functions for your trailer.

After that, you will need the Wiring Kit for 2, 4, 6, and 8 Brake Electric Trailer Brake Controllers # 5506. This comes with everything you need to complete the installation of your 7-way adapter. If you have the Curt Echo Under-Dash # C27JR you will need to connect the 12V power and brake output wires. If you're using the Curt Echo # C51180 you do not need to connect the blue brake output wire since it installs at the 7-way.

I have attached some installation videos below for your reference.

Thank you Robin. My Odyssey already has the 4-way connector installed. I'm trying to install the 7-way but need to also install the brake wire as the trailer I purchased has electric brakes. I bought the Curt C51180. So my question is where do I install the blue brake wire from the 7-way connector into my vehicle? I was hoping not to have to drill or run wires, hence why I bought the Curt C51180.

@Angela check out the installation video attached below and you will see where the wire needs to go. There is no avoiding running the 12V wire to the battery. The brake output wire doesn't need to be installed on the vehicle side because the signal comes from the Echo at the rear attached to your 7-way.
