Replacement for Dexter Axle 7056-00 Entry Door Seal

Question:

Hi. I have an entry door by Dexter that is missing some of the seal at the bottom. It’s a hollow self adhesive D seal with 3 ribs, 3/8x5/8. Tried some seal that seemed ti match, but it was firmer and kept the side of the door off the side seal. Dexter says their part number is 7056-00, but they don’t sell it. They referred me to McMasters but they don’t have it either. Appears to be a product of Central Rubber Extrusions of Illinois but they also don’t retail. Looking for 5 feet. Do you carry this seal or know where I might find it?

Hey Jeff, thanks for reaching out!

I have 3 different seals that are potential candidates but we unfortunately don't have the 7056-00 seal you're looing for:

- Rubber Ribbed Wide Seal # SR82FR
- Rubber Medium Half Round Seal # SR35ZR
- Rubber Rectangular Seal # SR25FR

The Ribbed Wide Seal looks to match the closest in design, but it's solid and rubber whereas the 7056-00 looks to be more foam so it will compress easier which is why I included the half round and rectangular seals for your reference.

Thanks for the reply. I’ve tried what looked like a similar seal, but it turned out to be much firmer and kept the bottom of the side of the door off the side seal. I’m a little hesitant to spend $XX+ on something that may or may not work, but if I can’t find the original seal the factory uses I’ll give it a shot. I’m kind of surprised it isn’t easy to find OE seals for Dexter’s doors. Anyway thanks again for the help.

@Jeff I had same issue. Renegade RV sent me 7056-00. I found this when researching and I believe this is same profile - search for "Clean Seal 1705H250 .400 X .625" Good luck.

@GeorgeR Thanks so much for that. I only found that clean seal listed for a full roll. Anyhow I found that RecPro RPS-8-5 baggage door D seal doesn’t have the ribs, but is soft enough to seal the door without pushing the side of the door off the seal. As a plus, you can order 5 feet. For Lippert doors it looks to be pretty easy to look up the door and order whatever part or factory seal you need in whatever length you want. I was surprised this door wasn’t that simple. Anyway thank you again.
