Video Transcript for Coghlans RV Egg Holder Review

Hey everyone, it's Evangeline here at etrailer. And, let's say, if you're going camping, or you have your RV and you need to store your eggs because you like to eat breakfast foods, who doesn't But you want to make sure that they're safely stored, they're not rolling around, they're not getting cracked in your RV or in your camping bag. This is a look at our Coghlan's RV and Camping Egg Holder. So, this is a virtually unbreakable egg holder, which will safely store, as well as transport, up to 12 extra large eggs inside of them. Now, this is the 12 egg version, we can also get this in a six or a two pack. So, this is made of plastic, so compared to your egg cartons, it's a little bit stronger and sturdier, but it's also dishwasher safe.

So, after a bit of time, if you do get this dirty, whether from the contents of your bag, or from the contents of the inside, you can just throw this in the dishwasher then it's good to go. On the end, you have this molded handle, so this is what you use to carry your egg holder. And then, you also have these little clips, or tabs, holding it or latching it into place. So, when you're ready to open it, you just take apart the handles and then pull them apart in order to release the latch and then you can see and get your eggs. What I have in here right now are 12 large eggs, but these can fit up to extra large eggs.

So, on the bottom, it's a nice, smooth surface for your eggs. And then. on the top, you have these little holders, so they're just molded pieces of plastic, and that's gonna help support your eggs and prevent them from rolling around or cracking while they're inside your carton. So, with our large eggs in there, I did notice that there is a little bit of a shaking on the inside, you can hear some movement of the eggs. But even after I shake it, when we do open it, you can see that no damage has occurred to the eggs.

So, I emptied out our cooler for you just to also give it a little bit of a shake test. So one, we can see how it fits inside our cooler, with its rectangular shape you can fit it against the corners of your cooler. And then, let's close it and then slide it around just to mimic how it is at the actual campsite, where you don't know if enough impact will damage your eggs. All right, let's take a look at if that has, oh, I definitely broke it. So, that's cool to see, even though I did latch it at the end, with a lot of jostling that latch definitely undid itself and allowed our eggs to fall out of its carton.

So, that's definitely educational, I would recommend as you do use this, the carton itself is unbreakable, but you have to make sure that that latch does not detach, and maybe try to have it padded as you have it inside of your carton. Let's take a quick look at dimensions. So, for our 12 egg carton here, when it comes to length, it's going to be six by seven-eighth inches long, and then seven by five-eighth inches wide. And that will include our handle right over here. And as for its height, it's going to be about three inches tall from the top of the egg, to the bottom of the egg mold. So, that nice rectangular shape, as well as its compactness, makes it easy to store inside of your RV refrigerator, in your bag, or even in your cooler. Speaking of coolers, let's take a look at that. Now, I do recommend keeping this inside of a cooler, or in your RV refrigerator. I did have it inside my bag, nestled up against some cloth so it's been nice and cool in there. So, it has been about two hours and I did notice that our eggs still feel kind of cool so that's nice to see. I definitely do not recommend leaving them out in the sun, but if it's just a quick short trip, you will still be okay. So, to mimic a real life situation, we carried this cooler across a parking lot, brought it up the hill, and now we set it down on the ground. We have our regular cooler items inside as well as some ice, so let's see how it looks. So, here we have our eggs. They're fitted here in between our other cartons. You can see how our cartons have already come getting damp. And then our styrofoam one is squished on one side, but our plastic carton is still sturdy. So opening it up, let's take a look inside. Our eggs are still nice and no cracks on them. As you can see, in real life situations, when you have a cooler or you have an RV refrigerator, you can see the benefits of using a plastic carton like this. So, compared to our styrofoam carton, which was very easily smushed, as well as our recyclable carton, which got damp from the ice and the water, this one is nice and sturdy as well as dry. So, my final thoughts about these egg cartons is that the carton itself is virtually unbreakable. The eggs are not, so still use common sense with using this. Don't throw it at rocks, at trees, down a hill, just use it like you'd normally use cartons. Keep them in your cooler, in your refrigerator, and these will keep them nice and dry and safe until you're ready to cook with them. And that was a look here at our Coghlan's RV and Camping Egg Holders, here at etrailer. My name's Evangeline and I hope you enjoyed the journey..
