Troubleshooting Blue Ox Patriot Braking System that Won't Apply Brakes When Parked

Question:

Purchased a 2013 jeep wrangler Rubicon that was pre-wired with blue ox base plate and wiring system. And wired for a patriot.3 2019 breaking system. the unit was not included with purchase, so I purchased the same one put it in the vehicle, run set up on break unit got a greenlight. Plug the breakaway.and registered on the RF display said breakaway ready. Then plugged a 7-6 pin cord into the RV. started the RV engaged break and did not engage brake unit in Jeep. The RF display did not show break engaging either. Then push manual break button on the RF monitor and the unit breaks fine. And when I pull the breakaway plug, it does not engage the break either and does not register on the RF monitor, that might be a bad breakaway switch I think. But Any ideas on why it’s not engaging when depressing the break in the RV? Thanks,

Hey Jeff, did you try moving the flat tow setup and applying the brakes? The Blue Ox Patriot # BLU37FR has an inertia sensor that detects how hard you apply the brakes and decides how hard to apply the flat towed vehicle brakes so if you didn't try it when moving that would be a problem.
