Why Would Trailer Leaf Springs Break A Lot

Question:

Hi. Ive got a 2017 heartland torque 38 ft fifth wheel toy hauler. Double axle. We have had constant issues with broken leaf springs. I thought it may be to my speed so last trip I made I stayed at 60mph. While no broken springs this trip, I can see that one spring is already starting to spread out leafs are not in alignment with each other. I have the mo ride center hangar but obviously Im going to need more than this. Can u suggest the best possible fix that you can think of considering the products you carry? Airbags? Anything? Thanks in advance for your help.

Expert Reply:

Persistent leaf spring breaking is typically caused by a leaf spring that isn't rated high enough so you might verify that the springs you are installing are rated high enough. And you might also verify at a scale that your trailer doesn't happen to weigh more than what you thought it was.

It can also be that the roads you are travelling on are uniquely rough or if the springs are just of a very low quality.
