How To Find Correct Idler Hub For 2004 EZ loader Boat Trailer With 2,999LB Axle Capacity
Question:
Hello, Im looking for replacement hubs for my 2004 EZ-Loader boat trailer. It is single axle rated to 2999lbs, 14x5.5 J rims, Model number 4-EZB 17-20 2350. It is used in saltwater and Id like to have a grease zerk for greasing . Can you recommend a compatible hub kit that you sell. Thanks. Chris

There are 2 ways to figure out exactly what you need Chris as I cannot look up parts for your 2004 EZ Loader boat trailer based on just a model. If you have the VIN you or I can contact EZ Loader to verify the correct bearings and seals used on your current hubs or you can pull a hub off and get the part numbers off the parts. If the part numbers are not visible you could also measure the spindle using a Caliper # PTW80157.
Based on the axle weight you most likely have the #84 spindle which will use a Inner Bearing # L68149(1.378" inner diameter) and Outer Bearing # L44649(1.063" inner diameter). The grease seal could be either a 1.719" inner diameter # 58846 or a 1.687" inner diameter # 168255TB. Since you are in salt water ideally you would want to use the Stainless Steel Hub # KH84545S which you will pair with the bearings and correct size grease seal from the ones above. For the cap we have the EZ lube Cap # DE69YR if you have a grease zerk on the end of your spindle or the Bearing Buddy Protectors # BB1980A-SS if you have a standard non-EZ lube spindle.
