Will The Hopkins EasyLift Truck Bed Tailgate Lift Assist Work On A 2000 Toyota Tundra?

Based upon the QandA see below it appears the Hopkins easylift # 74211 will fit my 2000 Tundra. When I spoke to customer service they couldnt confirm this. I was referred to Hopkins, but doesnt hurt to double check. You are correct that the Hopkins EasyLift Truck Bed Tailgate Lift Assist # 74211 is a confirmed fit on your 2001 Toyota Tundra. You will need to drill two holes to complete the installation, one in the truck bed and one in the bottom of the tailgate which you can see in the included video. The instructions included with the EasyLift # 74211 will include the required template to mark the correct locations to drill the two holes. expert reply by: Samuel C

Hopkins does not list the EasyLift Truck Bed Tailgate Lift Assist # 74211 as a fit for the 2000 Toyota Tundra, so this may be why they were not able to confirm it. Technically this item is not custom fitted for any specific vehicle. That said, we have had multiple customers report to us that it does indeed fit the early 2000s Tundra. In fact within the last 2-3 years we have received confirmation that it has worked on a 2000, 2001 and 2002 Tundra, so based on this we can tell you that it will work fine with your 2000.
