Trailer Hitch for a 2013 Subaru Crosstrek to Carry a Cargo Carrier with Ramp and Ice Cream Cart
Question:
I want to put a cargo carrier with ramp on my 2013 Subaru Crosstrek. Specifically, I am trying to to transport a 350 pound ice cream cart to local farmers markets. Will this trailer hitch do the job?

First you will need to know the weight of the ice cream cart loaded and ready to go plus the weight of the carrier. Once you have the total weight that will be on the hitch we can determine what is going to work.
The Curt trailer hitch # C13135 has a tongue weight capacity of 525 pounds. The combined weight of the cart and the carrier cannot exceed 525 pounds. But you will also need to check the tongue weight capacity of your 2013 Subaru XV Crosstrek using the owners manual. If the capacity is less than the hitch go by the lower capacity.
I have included a link to a video installation of the trailer hitch for you. Please note that Curt recommends the use of a stabilization strap, # 18050, for all non-trailer loads. The strap is designed to reduce some of the stress on the hitch.
