Recommended Trailer Hitch And Wiring For A 2023 Toyota Tacoma SR5 Double Cab
Question:
hello what hitch and 4-way wiring do you recommend for the 2023 Tacoma SR5. Double cab with 5' bed if that matters. Is there 4 way and 7 way available? Thanks

We can get you what you need. For a trailer hitch for the 2023 Toyota Tacoma SR5 my recommendation is the etrailer Class 3 Hitch # e98905. This is your standard 2" receiver and it has a 6,000 lb GTW and 900 lb TW weight rating. I really like the matte black powder coating that they use on this hitch. It will do well to resist scratching and chipping. It also blends nicely with the underbody of the vehicle. Although, most of the crosstube will be hidden behind the bumper. I went ahead and linked our install video for this hitch below.
As far as wiring goes, there are both 4-way and 7-way options available. If you want just the 4-way all you will need is the Curt T-Connector # C56349. If you are going to need both, what I recommend doing is installing the Tekonsha 7-Way Harness # 22117, and simply using an adapter # 37335 when you need a 4-flat. The Tekonsha 7-Way Harness # 22117 is nice because it contains literally everything you will need to wire a 7-way, including all of the necessary wires for a brake controller.
Should you need a brake controller, I suggest going with the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 # 90195. This is Tekonshas best, most recent model of controller so it always comes highly recommended. The Tekonsha 7-Way Harness will plug directly into the brake controller so it will be a very easy add-on.
