Recommended Locking Hitch Pin Set that Resists Corrosion and Rust

Question:

hi. I am 67 years old. every single hitch pin lock I have ever bought, ultimately had to be cut off becuase the key would no longer work in the key tumbler. even spraying the key hole preriodically with wiz bang lube did not help nor di using the fancy rubber cover. are there any hitch pin locks that are corrosion resistant and will work when its time to remove years later. I need a good hitch pin lock for a 3inch channel type 9inch adjustable hitch. I guess a lock for the main 3inch hitch and locks for the pins that go thru the channel. advise. thanks

I grew up on a farm, I totally get your dilemma. You need a set of stainless steel locking hitch pins. The best option for a channel style ball mount is going to be the InfiniteRule Locking Pins item # 34061674-D. This heavy-duty locking pin set has a 42,000 lbs shear strength and can be controlled by a single key. It is made of a rust and corrosion resistant stainless steel and has a built in o-ring that keeps moisture out so the internal functions of the lock don't seize up.

This lock set is also manufactured in the USA.

Additionally, I recommend moving away from a wiz bang lube because of it's oil base. This attracts dirt and debris like a magnet. I've always used just the basic spray can of WD-40 and couldn't recommend it more highly. It's advertised as a lubricant but it's more of a penetrating solvent that prevents build up.
