Determining The Correct Replacement Slide Out Motor For A 1999 National Sea View Motorhome

Question:

For a 1999 National Sea View motorhome: My slide out has died and wont retract. In fact it does nothing at all now. Cant seem to find a burnt fuse. Do you know which motor I need and do you carry it?

There unfortunately isn't a guide to tell us what slide out motor was used in your motorhome so you'll have to get to the motor and get a picture of it's serial numbers so that we can determine the correct replacement. With the slide extended out you'll be able to get under and see the motor attached to the room bar. You may have to unmount the motor in order to see the ID stickers (examples posted below). Before replacing it I recommend checking the power wire with a multimeter # PT89ZR and having someone press either the extend or retract switch to see if the motor is receiving power.

If it's not receiving power then you'll need to trace the wiring from the power source to the motor to determine where the break in the wiring is. If it is receiving power and still not operating then it would need to be replaced. I've attached a short video below where I'll help walk you through the process of replacing your slide out motor and checking for the serial numbers.
